Though marriage is a complimentary affair, that is the wife complimenting the husband in the home, nevertheless; the role of a husband in the house is invaluable. The husband according to the foundational intent of God was created to be the head of the home.

Headship is responsibility that every responsible husband must assume, Throughout the Bible, God treats marriage partnership seriously. The husband should be willing to respond to his commitment of managing his family in such a way that both God and society would be proud of. His goal in marriage should be more than been the head; it should be a father.

The role of a responsible husband includes:

Leadership: A responsible husband is also a leader, leadership demonstrated by love. The husband that demonstrates to his family the capacity of setting values that encourages oneness in his family will have for a harvest a home of peace and joy.

Covering: A husband or father that understands his role of providing covering for his family, in my honest opinion is one who provides spiritual protection in the place of prayer, if the family that prays together stays together, how much more; the husband that prays for his house provides a banner of divine security.

Provision: Providing for the needs of the house is a responsibility that marks a husband that is up to the task of taking care of his family. Providing essential needs like food, shelter, education, clothing and other vital needs of the family is the responsibility of the husband, though a wife that has the wherewithal can assist or compliment the husband’s efforts.

A responsible husband is a pride of any society, because when a man is faithful and committed to his family, it will reflect in the society. The home will be a beehive of joy, the wife will most likely cooperate with him, whicn in turn will encourage the blessing of God to be ever present in the family.
